LENA DITTE NISSEN
Series of 10 photographs, video, wallpaper, acrylic glass objects
Looking at us from a black and white wallpaper a monkey seems to protect himself and the screening surface on which the video-loop is projected, maybe consciously looking away from us. We move through the ruin of an old hacienda in Mexico City, jumping in and out of the frame through the performative camera that references my body and eyes. Slick and transparent surfaces of acrylic glass objects, formed like a sun or a cactus, visually reflect the surrounding of the building in dilapidation. The contrasting of projected exotic forms and colors and a reality in decay together form abstract colorful photographs of an in-between state.
